3. What is resilience?

Resilience is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. (Oxford English Dictionary).

It is the ability to overcome and cope even when there are barriers or setbacks. Resilience can be taught and focuses on emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual components. Resilience enhances your quality of life and decreases stress, which is linked to burnout. Cultivating the ability to view challenges as opportunities.

We will assess where your current resilience levels are. We will plan how to increase and sustain your resilience and that of your teams’ and how to work with your organisation to can do to support this.

4. What is burnout?

Burn-out is defined in the World Health Organisation’s International Classification of Disease – version 11 (ICD-11) as follows:
“Burn-out is a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. It is characterized by three dimensions:
• feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion;
• increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to one’s job; and
• reduced professional efficacy.

Burn-out refers specifically to phenomena in the occupational context and should not be applied to describe experiences in other areas of life.”

It is essential for employers to put into place key processes and systems, using evidence and best practice, to reduce the risk of burnout as well as facilitate support when needed for staff burnout.

Leaders and their staff, can in addition, optimise their own resilience and wellbeing, to reduce their risk, or improve recovery from, burnout, and thrive, using a bespoke coaching package created for them. The LiveWell Mastermind is such a programme.

5. What can I expect on the call?

Some People We’ve Worked With

“Sri had an exceptional method to delineate the underlying mental blocks stopping me from transitioning to the next level of my professional life and her calm yet professional manner catalysed my progression to a deeper understanding of my inner limiting beliefs.

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Sri for professional life coaching as the results are truly spectacular!”

Dr. Tharshini Ramalingam

GPSI cardio-oncology, The Royal Brompton Hospital; GP Partner, Oxted Health Centre

“Excellent and helpful process. Sri was an amazing listener and helped me come to very important and powerful realisations that undoubtedly will help on my way to achieving my career goals, that thanks to her, I was able to clearly identify.

Sri is an excellent and capable coach. I would highly recommend her! I know she will go on to help many more people and they’ll be lucky to have a coach like Sri.”

Visiting Senior Clinical Lecturer

“I am writing to thank you and perhaps to let others in my position know the growth that this journey has yielded.

I am struck by the impact. I did not expect this in such a short amount of time. As I write this I realise that the process cannot be reduced to quantity. Coaching is a relationship that brings about qualitative changes in both parties. You said that you believed in the power of coaching to release the potential in others as it had done in you.”

Chair of Trust-wide Women’s Leadership Forum

“I found the process useful. The time line of events, which was heavily dominated by work activities, was a powerful insight to my life/my view of my life.

Articulating this was helpful because it made me feel uncomfortable to realise the domination of work. The interconnectedness between core areas of the balance wheel made me realise where and why change needed to commence.”

My coach was amazing, I have participated in a few coaching programs over the years and for me, there is something very different when you are working with someone from a clinical/mental health background. You can unlock things that you just can’t do with a coach without that clinical experience.
I believe my employers are now getting a much improved version of me, I am confident in a way I have never been before. I am not afraid to speak up in meetings and find that I manage the everyday stress of the job much more effectively now.
This coaching program has helped me to overcome aspects of myself that I had wrangled with for over 30 years. Inevitably in helping me to understand myself better and giving me tools to deal with different situations, my performance at work has improved and my professional self has developed. I would absolutely recommend this coaching to others, particularly if you know there are things in yourself which are holding you back.
